Opening a new section on Brazilkids, Bits and
Kids, we want to present to you Matheus. He is a nine years
boy that lives in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro state. Its house is a
small apartment of two rooms, in Tijuca, a middle class quarter. Matheus
lives with his mother. And also with his "step father",
as he refers to Leandro, her boyfriend, says he, laughing. "But
my father lives very close and is always around", he completes. Besides his little 5 years old brother, Andre, he count that their family are his father, the mother, the grandmother, the aunt, the great-grandmother, the cousins, the uncle, his little brother Andre and the Leandro children also. Matheus mother is a kindergarden teacher and his father works on computer. "But only sometimes he leaves us to use it". Inside house, Matheus helps his mother washing plates and playing-off the trash too. "Andre has to keep shoes that are over the house" say he. In the school he will go this year to the third grade. Over there Matheus likes to play soccer with his friends, to go to the library and enjoys the arts and computer science lessons. He studies at Peter II State School, one of the rare state schools that still are of good quality here in Brazil. His better school friends are named Bruno Abraão and Leonardo. When he arrives home, the business is to play. "I play with my neighbor, I ride my bicycle and I also taste to read comix... I like very much to play soccer, with my friends. And also, to play Game-Boy, that is one little eletronic pocket-game. His favourite toys are dinossauros. On last Christmas it was very cool: he gained the second book of Harry Potter collection (he has already read the first one), a new tape for his pocket-game and also a guitar! "My brother, Andre, gained one little swimming plastic pool kit". His vacations were very good. "I went to Petrópolis, that is a city close to Rio, in a friends house that has a swimming pool. There I´ve learned to swim better, and I´ve played a lot with other children. I´ve been too on Mirantão, that is a small village close to Rio too. Over there I´ve swimmed, walked horse, ate very compound-hot and walked a lot". In the future, Matheus thinks about being a scientist, a singer, a drawer or a writer. "But I find that I want exactly is to be a scientist. I expect also to know other countries!". Do you want to enter in contact and change emails with Matheus? Write him! |
