Did
you already walked on skate? If you has already fell down, already
you walked. Here in Brazil the children are each time playing more
on skate.
Not a coincidence, current world-wide skate champion is the brazilian
Bob Burnquist. To complete, the skatista Karen Feitosa, just eleven
years old, took recently the first place on continental stage of
the World-wide Skate Championship, the Crail World Cup. Karen lives
on Guarujá (a beach on São Paulo coast). She started
to walk on 9 years old, and now she already don't´remember
exactly how many competitions she was. "I find that are 30",
says.

For Karen, to compete is cool! She says that she likes to make the
maneuvers in any place. The one that she prefers? "Flip (a
maneuver where the funny skatista skate in air)". Her mother,
Ana Maria Feitosa de Barros, 45 years, that is with Karen in all
competitions, says that besides skate she has excellent notes in
the school and still she finds time to play capoeira and soccer!
Skate appeared in the United States, on California state, on 50
decade ending. Some surfers had decided to invent something different
to have fun themselves: they had caught the wheels of its skids
and had placed it on a wooden plate. And had left surfing in firm
land!

But only on 1965 skates had started to be produced in the industries.
At this time, was practised "freestyle", where skate slides
on the smooth soil. Only later appeared "streetstyle":
the skater walks on the streets, using steps and sidewalks as obstacles.
WOW!!!
