Wallets
destroyed, walls full of spray on most of brazilian public schools:
hard to study
|
Did
you already imagined what´s study in a school where everything
is broken and dirty? Nor good, right? It´s a big problem actually
on many of brazilian public schools.
The worst is when people finds that, if the school is on this way,
it´s a signal that people that are inside that do not value
too much... As says Regina de Assis, a teacher that works on some
of these schools. She agrees that schools bad conditions don't help
anything on children education. "The school has to be warmly,
clean. It has to be an extension of the house of each one ",
she says. "If a person lives in a dirty and disorganized environment,
thinks that he does not have value and that does not deserve something
better".
In the state school Francisco Mega, in the quarter of Magalhães
Bastos, on Rio de Janeiro, for example, the pupils show the destruction
scene: wallets are broken and walls are all full of inscriptions.
Manuella de Almeida, a pupil, complains of this bad conservation.
"Wallets of my classroom are in pieces. Lack seat, arm. In
the hour to study, we have to catch pieces in the soil and mount
our wallets. I prefer to support my book in my leg to write, therefore
the wallet arm does not give firmness when mounted ", Manuella
says.
The government says that money is going to schools to improve the
installations. Pupils do not see results. Without a great investment
in education and good schools, how things will be in the future?
