Here
in Brazil we´re close for next president´s choice. We
had on last eight years Fernando Henrique Cardoso as a president.
He was been elected two times. On November we´ll be choosing
on four candidates: Anthony Garotinho, José Inácio
Lula da Silva, Jose Serra and Ciro Gomes.
In Brazil, if you are over 16 you can vote, and voting is obligatory.
The campaign in general is made on streets, on political assemblies
and a lot of street advertising. There are free time for candidates
on TV, when you can try to know more abou their history and purposes.
It will be the third election after military dictatorship, during
what brazilian people spended almost 20 years without full political
rights.
There´ll be great responsibilities for next elected president:
despite of being a rich country, Brazil has one of the worst income
distributions in the world. Our social problems are growing and
each day more people see that we need deep changes to guarantee
basic rights for all brazilian people.
This election will choose senators, local governors and federal
and state deputies.
