In 22 of August of 1846, he published an article with the heading "Folk-lore", in the magazine The Athenaeum, considering the creation of the term, that congregates the words octopus (folk) and lore (culture), or either, popular culture. So, on 22 August is commemorated in all Brazil as the Folklore Day.
