26 songs that lives inside childrens heart, all over Brazil and a beautiful art cover design

Ok, turn on the radio: there are a lot of songs that sounds cool for children. But what about a selection of beautiful songs reflecting the special character of 26 regions from Brazil, each one with his own and very unusual style?

This the beautiful work done on "Brazil Songs", a CD done by brazilian record "Singing Word" (Palavra Cantada) from two Sao Paulo musicians, Sandra Peres and Paulo Tatit.


Sandra Peres and Paulo Tatit: researching songs on 25 brazilian states

Sandra and Paulo travelled around all states in Brazil, searching not only for folclorical songs and rythms, but songs that children had living inside them. They recorded a song from each state, and on their work is possible to check out rhythms, lyrics, melodies and singing styles of brazilian children, by their own: the Maracatu form Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro´s samba, Bumba-meu-Boi from Maranhão, Bahia´s Olodum, Congada from Minas Gerais, Rap from Sao Paulo… Lyricas are all simple, sometimes folclorical, sometimes new compositions, bu always very alive inside children.

It brings great surprises as the work of the little boy Pedrinho, that is only 10 years old, and that plays "Sonho Bom" a sample of Rio de Janeiro´s Samba. Or in Pernambuco state, the 18 children group of "Nação Erê", playing the maracatu.

A special attractiveness of the CD is its art-cover, that brings lyrics from each one of the beautiful 27 songs, accomplished by a portrait from local music style and from children group that has recorded. All of it has a beautiful presentation, with design from Adriana Meirelles, Celia Catunda and Kiko Mistrorigo.
